Corvallis
Located just a few minutes off of I-5, Corvallis is a small city and home of OSU (Go Beavs!). From here it is only a half-hour drive out to Jenny's house in Blodgett, where the wedding will be held. Corvallis is also the "most bike-able" city in North America. The historic downtown values mom and pop establishments (no Wal-Mart here), and there is a recently developed 'waterfront' along the river, which is a great place to hang out at in the summer. Here are a couple of suggested places to stay in the area.
Holiday Inn Express
- Mention that you would like the wedding discount and get 10% off your room rate.
- Website
The Holiday Inn Express overlooks the Willamette River and it is only a couple blocks from the downtown. It has a nice breakfast area that looks out over the river, and there is a pool as well.
Super 8
The Super 8 is located right next to downtown Corvallis, and the waterfront walk passes right in front of it. The park, shopping and eating are just a short walk away.
KOA
We were not able to check out the KOA, but it is located not far out of Corvallis. From the website it also seems that it has all the normal things that a KOA offers, including a putt-putt golf course!
Newport
Newport is about a forty-five minute drive from Jenny's house. If you want to hit the beaches and get some seafood while you are down here, you might want to look for a place to stay here.
Elizabeth Street Inn
Each room at the Elizabeth Street Inn faces the ocean and has a balcony. And the beach is just short walk down the bluff. The newly remodeled rooms are very nice, and some of them are even less expensive than the much older Shilo next door.
